Pure gold in mushroom form, the Chaga mushroom (Russian) - known scientifically as Inonotus obliquus - has been used for many centuries in several Baltic countries, as well as in Russia (Siberia) and other parts of Asia and Northern Europe. Known variously as "diamond of the forest", "nature's black gold", and "the gift from God", it **is one of the most highly regarded fungi. It is nicknamed in part due to the inside of the Chaga conk, which boasts a beautiful, deep golden colour in stark contrast to its outermost layer - a black, hardened mass reminiscent of a clump of burnt charcoal. Life Cykel’s Chaga is wild harvested from Birch trees in North America, as this particular mushroom thrives in colder climates in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Chaga mushroom is thought to have the highest antioxidant capacity of any functional mushroom and contains many bioactive compounds - including inotodiol and betulin. HOW?
